While racing, I shut down all other background apps. I am not one to cry 'bug' until all other possibilities have been ruled out, but at this point, I think I have to say it is a pC2 bug.

I have NOT experienced this issue in any other sim so far, so am finally starting to accept the fact that it appears to be a pC2 specific bug.

Until last night, I was under the distinct impression that it was a local issue to my hardware, however during our 2.4 Hours of Daytona race last night, another league member commented that he too was experiencing this issue and has been for quite some time as well. Once the issue starts, it tends to get progressively worse as the race goes on. I have tried multiple versions of Fanatec drivers/firmware with no change. There is NO Windows USB disconnect/reconnect tone when this happens, so Windows does not see a device disconnect. It has cost me several good results so far. When the issue occurs, it lasts anywhere from less than 1 second, up to 10 seconds. I upgraded my PSU thinking maybe I was having a power load issue.

The first thing I did was ensure that all USB Power saving settings are disabled both in Windows and BIOS. Main power to the wheel is still fine, but due to the lost USB there is no signal to the wheel and hence no FFB, no steering control, no pedal control (pedals connected to base), and no button/paddle shift controls. The USB signal just completely goes away, and the on wheel display and LED rev lights cut out. I noticed on the PC version you can edit detailed FFB settings in FFB_custom_settings.txt but I took a look in there and the settings look too complicated for me to start fiddling with (the in-game FFB settings on PC1 were perfect). Awfully steep learning curve but that's exactly what I'm looking for. After an initial struggle to get pedals calibrated (G27 pedals with DIY adaptor) everything is working fine and I can get to racing. I've bought a Fanatec CSW 2.5 and I picked up a copy of PC2 yesterday. I've just recently got back into sim racing after a five year break.
